Street Sweeping

The Town of Norwell uses cleaning crews on an almost-daily basis, keep streets as clean as possible, especially during the spring to clear away winter road sanding, and after heavy rains have redistributed sand or gravel along public roadways. The Highway department sweeps each street in Norwell once or twice per year as needed.

In summer and fall, sweeping helps clear overgrowth to maintain margins of safety for pedestrians and bicycles.

We make every attempt to sweep streets and neighborhoods of Norwell at least once a year, but do encounter limitations such as narrow streets and parked vehicles. Please check with Norwell Highway department for the street sweeping schedule, and keep your street clear of parked vehicles on sweeping days.
