By combining the (3) departments, we are maximizing efficiency and reducing duplication. The Highway, Tree and Grounds Department has already reviewed the initial program with its Engineer and Architectural team and has reduced the overall building size by approximately 30%.  These reductions were made to help control the overall cost of the facility while still meeting the operation needs of the Highway, Tree and Grounds Department.  Furthermore, the proposed building construction types consist of cost-effective construction including pre-engineered or pre-fabricated building components and systems.  In addition, energy efficient systems and energy saving construction is proposed to be utilized which will manage and reduce ongoing operation and maintenance costs of the combined facility. These construction types and strategies represent the most cost-effective building methods available today for public works facilities.
